Sudanhorizon – Mariam Absher – Special Report

Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, will begin a three-leg African tour tomorrow, Saturday, that will take him to several African countries.

According to informed sources who spoke to Sudanhorizon news website, the tour will begin with a visit to Mali and will also include Burkina Faso and Niger.
Al-Burhan will be accompanied by a high-level ministerial and senior officials delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ali Youssef.

A diplomatic source considered activating the role of presidential diplomacy at the African level to be very important and would score great success.

The expected summit meetings between the President of the Sovereign Council and the leaders of the countries will provide a huge impetus and strengthen bilateral relations, in addition to confirming Sudan’s interest in African affairs and reviving its pioneering role as the first subsaharan African country to gain independence in January 1956 and help Africa a lot by supporting national liberation movements. According to the source, Sudan has been sheltering African refugees throughout its history until it became a destination for immigration and settlement via the well-known Hajj route that connects the countries of the Sudanese geographical belt.

The source confirmed that Sudan, despite the circumstances it is currently going through, has continued to maintain excellent diplomatic relations at the bilateral level with most African countries despite the suspension of its activity in the African Union.

Sudan appreciates the countries to be visited and looks forward to briefing them on its current situation due to the war.
