Agar Pleads With Citizens of Sudan and South Sudan

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, issued a statement addressing the citizens of Sudan and South Sudan in response to recent tensions and killings in both countries over the past two days.
Agar expressed his deep concern over the “criminal incident” in Wad Madani, Gezira State, and noted that the Sudanese government had issued statements strongly condemning the “unjustified and barbaric attacks that claimed innocent lives.”
He added that General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, had promptly established a fact-finding committee to investigate the events. Agar assured that the perpetrators would be held accountable and brought to justice.
Agar called on the affected communities in both Sudan and South Sudan to maintain calm despite the understandable emotions surrounding the incidents, urging them to avoid being drawn into further retaliatory criminal acts.
He also acknowledged the swift intervention by the Government of South Sudan to protect innocent Sudanese civilians during the widespread incidents in Juba and other areas following the events in Wad Madani. Agar emphasized that no one is allowed to take the law into their own hands, reaffirming the commitment to justice and accountability.
