Auditor General: Banking Sector Shows Improvement in Overall Performance

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today at the Republican Palace in Khartoum with Sudan’s Auditor General, Salah Al-Din Mohammed Osman.

In a press statement, the Auditor General said he had presented the President of the Sovereignty Council with a comprehensive report on the performance of the banking sector for the financial year ending in 2025. The report covered the Central Bank of Sudan, specialized commercial banks, cases of financial distress in the banking sector, and microfinance institutions.

The Auditor General noted that the overall characteristics and performance of the banking sector had shown noticeable improvement, confirming that the report included a number of recommendations aimed at strengthening financial stability and developing the sector.

He added that he had also briefed the President of the Sovereignty Council on the performance of the National Audit Chamber, noting that the chamber is currently preparing the 2025 State General Performance Report.
