Large-Scale Ground Operation in Kordofan as Army Advances on Several Fronts and Takes Al-Farshaya

Military and field sources reported Thursday that the Sudanese Armed Forces and supporting forces had launched a large-scale ground operation along several fronts in the Kordofan region, coinciding with advances in areas across northern, southern, and western Kordofan.

According to the sources, the forces took control of Al-Farshaya, north of Dilling, located on the road linking El Obeid and Dilling. Circulating footage showed army and supporting forces announcing their presence inside the area following their advance. Al-Farshaya is strategically important because it lies along one of the movement and supply routes linking North and South Kordofan.

On the western El Obeid front, military sources reported that the forces had taken control of Al-Mamsouka, while circulating footage showed soldiers announcing their entry into the area. Some sources differ over its administrative affiliation, but the area lies along the axis extending west of El Obeid toward parts of Western Kordofan.

In North Kordofan, military sources told Al Arabiya and Al Hadath that the armed forces had advanced west of Bara and entered new areas, coinciding with movements around Sodari targeting positions and movement routes used by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. Other sources also reported that the forces had entered the Shershar area northwest of Bara and that movements toward other areas were continuing. However, no comprehensive official military statement has yet been issued regarding these details.

Al Jazeera reported that the army also used drones to target RSF militia vehicles in Sodari and its surrounding areas as part of the simultaneous operations across the region.

According to the military sources, these movements indicate a simultaneous operation along multiple fronts in Kordofan. However, the Sudanese Armed Forces have not yet issued a detailed statement specifying the full scope of the operation or its final field results.
