Karari – Sudanhorizon
Karari Locality has launched a new initiative to ease the transport crisis by deploying 10 buses to transport students and residents along several main streets and routes across the locality, with fares reduced by 50%. The initiative is being implemented under the patronage and directives of the Governor of Khartoum State.
The initiative is sponsored by Karari Locality Executive Director Omar Mohamed Ahmed Al-Naeem and supervised by the locality’s Transport Department Director, Dr Kamel Ahmed Al-Haj. It forms part of efforts to provide affordable transport for residents and students and reduce the burden caused by the transport crisis affecting the state.
The buses are scheduled to operate along several main routes, including Al-Shuhada, Al-Wadi Street, Al-Shanqeeti and Sabreen, helping facilitate movement between different areas and provide lower-cost transport options, particularly for students and people on limited incomes.
The initiative comes in response to the challenges facing transport services in Khartoum State, which place daily burdens on residents amid rising transport costs and difficulties in accessing public transportation.
The locality affirmed that the initiative would continue as part of its efforts to develop transport services and introduce practical measures to ease residents’ hardship and improve transportation across Karari Locality.
