Geological Research Reveals Seven Projects and a Mineral Map for the Nile River

The “Made in the Nile River” exhibition opened, evening, Monday, in River Nile State, with the participation of the General Authority for Geological Research.

The Governor of the State, Dr. Mohamed Al-Badawi Abu Qurun, explained that the exhibition aims to inform companies, businesspeople, and researchers about the state’s vast potential in the field of industrial minerals and the promising investment opportunities associated with them.

The Director of the General Authority for Geological Research office in River Nile State, Mohamed Taher, stated that the Authority has seven fully studied production projects ready for investment, representing a fundamental pillar for boosting mineral investment in the state.

He explained that these projects include: the talc project in Abu Hamad locality, marble projects in West Atbara and West Berber, pozzolana in West Berber, kaolin in Al-Matamma locality, white sand and bentonite in the Al-Barda area, mica in the Al-Sharik area of Abu Hamad locality, in addition to iron ore in West Atbara and manganese.

Mohammed Tahir affirmed that these projects are ready for investment based on sound scientific and technical principles, and offer genuine opportunities to enter high value-added processing industries. He added that the Authority also selected other mineral resources available in the state, including quartz and basalt, which were showcased at the Authority’s pavilion at the exhibition to attract investors and familiarize them with the state’s significant mineral diversity.

The Authority’s participation included presenting the state’s geological map and explaining the geographical distribution of mineral resources, enabling investors and researchers to make investment decisions based on reliable scientific-based information.

The Authority emphasized that this participation aligns with the directives of the state’s government and the Ministry of Minerals, which aim to attract quality investments and solidify the role of industrial minerals as a key driver of economic and social development in River Nile State.
