Installation of Booster Pumps to Strengthen Water Supply in Bahri, East Nile, and Khartoum

The Khartoum State Water Corporation announced the installation of six (6) new booster pumps at Intake (B) of the Bahri Water Station, each with a capacity of 1,250 cubic meters per hour.

The Director General of the Corporation, Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Awad, said in a statement today (Thursday) that the new pumps will contribute to increasing water production at the station, in addition to strengthening water supply to the localities of Bahri, East Nile, and Khartoum.

He explained that this step comes within the framework of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to rehabilitate water stations, currently being implemented in their second phase, in implementation of the directives and under the supervision of the Sovereign Committee headed by Lt. Gen. (Engineer) Ibrahim Jaber and the Government of Khartoum State.

For his part, the Director of the General Administration of Water Resources, Engineer Muhannad Mohamed Ali, stated that his department is carrying out daily follow-up on rehabilitation works at the stations in implementation of the issued directives.

In a related context, the Khartoum State Water Corporation announced yesterday (Wednesday) the operation of a main 28-inch transmission pipeline coming from the Bahri Water Station to Haj Yousif, following the installation of an electrical transformer at the station. This step aims to enhance and support water supply in East Nile locality, in addition to supplying Haj Yousif Street (1) and the Al-Qadisiyah area.
