Sudanese Army Captures New Areas, Secures Full Control of National Export Highway
Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Sunday that they had captured additional areas in North Kordofan State, including Umm Qarfa and Juraikh, giving the military full control of the National Export Highway linking Khartoum with North Kordofan State.
In a statement, the military spokesperson said the gains were achieved following successful military operations during which the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), referred to by the army as the “Dagalo militia,” and its allied fighters suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment and were forced to retreat.
“With this victory, your brave armed forces have established full control over the National Export Highway (Omdurman–El Obeid),” the spokesperson said.
The statement added that the successive military gains demonstrate the armed forces’ determination to continue what they describe as the Battle of Dignity until the country is cleared of the RSF and its allies.
