SAF Rejects Ethiopian Accusations of Supporting the Opposition

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF)have categorically rejected Ethiopian accusations of supporting the opposition, dismissing them as baseless allegations. This response follows statements made by the Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Force.

In a statement issued by its official spokesperson on Sunday night, the General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces explained that these accusations come at a time when there is confirmed information and evidence of ongoing support and backing for the “Al-Dagalo” terrorist militia from within Ethiopian territory. This includes training and supply operations, as well as the use of Ethiopian territory to conduct military activities using strategic and suicide drones.

The statement emphasized Sudan’s full commitment to international law, the principles of good neighborliness, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations, while simultaneously asserting that it will not tolerate any infringement upon its sovereignty or national security.

The Sudanese Armed Forces called upon the Ethiopian side to exercise accuracy and responsibility, and to rely on dialogue and official channels to preserve the security and stability of both countries and the region. They reaffirmed their readiness and vigilance in protecting the country’s borders and sovereignty, and in confronting any threats to its security.
