Standards Authority, Gulf Laboratories Sign MoU to Develop Conformity Systems

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gulf Laboratories for Verification and Conformity Company, headquartered in Riyadh, aimed at enhancing technical cooperation and developing Sudan’s conformity assessment system.
The memorandum seeks to strengthen conformity and verification processes for products and services in accordance with approved standards, contributing to improved quality infrastructure efficiency and supporting the national economy.
It also includes cooperation in technical capacity building, ensuring optimal use of laboratory equipment in line with best Gulf and international practices.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization by Dr. Ilham Saleh, Director General of Inspection and Quality Assurance, in the presence of Engineer Ahmed Nabil, Director of the International Relations Unit.
Both sides described the memorandum as an important step toward strengthening partnerships in the field of laboratories of all types, facilitating trade, protecting consumers, and supporting efforts toward reconstruction and sustainable development in Sudan.
