Sudanese Cabinet Urges Calm and Condemns Militia Attacks

The Sudanese Cabinet stressed during an emergency session held on Saturday, chaired by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs in charge of the Prime Minister’s duties, Osman Hussein Osman, the strength and eternity of relations between the two countries of Sudan and South Sudan and the common interests between the two brotherly peoples, pointing to the state’s efforts to promote and strengthen relations between the two countries to achieve common interests.
The Cabinet, according to a circular published by the Council after the session, ensured communication and coordination with the government of the State of South Sudan to remove what disturbs the relations between the two brotherly countries, as the Council discussed, during the session, developments in internal and external events.
The Cabinet condemned the targeting of vital and service facilities in the country by the rebel Rapid Support Militia, stressing that this is targeting citizens through targeting services, indicating that this represents a continuation of the militia’s approach in violating international norms and laws, stressing its keenness to promote services and alleviate the suffering of citizens.
The Council praised the victories of the armed forces, other joint and regular forces, the resistance and the mobilized, renewing its continued support and assistance to them. The Council also offered its condolences to the souls of the martyrs and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.
The Council of Ministers hailed the Sudanese people’s solidarity with their armed forces and their leadership, denouncing the US Treasury’s sanctions on the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, considering this a form of targeting the victory march, stressing what was stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard.
The Council of Ministers stressed in its emergency session the commitment to the procedures that achieve justice in accordance with the law, with the importance of obtaining rights through legal mechanisms.
