Politico: Saudi Crown Prince Asks Trump to Urge UAE Stop Supporting RSF

Washington –Sudanhorizon

The Politico, a magazine close to the US administration, particularly regarding security matters, reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has explicitly asked President Donald Trump that Saudi Arabia wants the United States to “do more to urge the UAE stop supporting the Rapid Support Forces(RSF).”
The magazine added that during meetings this week, the Saudi Crown Prince informed Trump of his desire for increased US involvement in managing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, a priority for the Crown Prince, whom the President met in Washington this week.
The magazine noted that Trump wrote on TruthSocial: “There is a desperate need for food, doctors, and everything else. Arab leaders and leaders from around the world, especially the very respected Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, who just left the United States, have asked me to use the power and influence of the Presidency to stop what is happening in Sudan immediately.”
The magazine asserts that in meetings held since his arrival in Washington on Tuesday, the Saudi Crown Prince informed Trump of his desire for increased US involvement in managing the crisis.
An Arab official told Politico that Saudi Arabia wants the United States to exert more pressure on the UAE to cease its support for the Rapid Support Forces. The official was granted anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomatic matters.
The magazine also noted that President Biden, before leaving office, accused the Rapid Support Forces of committing genocide in Sudan.
