Social Welfare Minister Opens Arab Human Resources Capacity-Building Forum in Khartoum

Khartoum – Sudan Horizon

Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Mutasim Ahmed Saleh addressed the opening session of the Arab Forum for Strengthening Human Resources Capacity, which began at Al Salam Hotel in Khartoum on Tuesday. He said the forum carried a message that the will to rebuild is stronger than ever and that Sudan is reopening its doors to Arab cooperation.

The minister said the forum reflects the Government of Hope’s commitment to developing human capital and reconstruction. He stressed that reconstruction does not begin with buildings, bridges, and roads, but with people and institutions capable of working and producing. He added that qualified human resources and sound management are essential pillars of the rebuilding and reconstruction phase, which is why the forum was organized.

The minister explained that the forum is the result of Arab cooperation with organizations affiliated with the League of Arab States and has now moved into the implementation phase. He noted that it would provide training opportunities for 500 Sudanese professionals and expand the benefits to include institutions across the state.

He described the forum as an example of development diplomacy that strengthens the foundations of Arab cooperation, praising the engagement of League of Arab States institutions with Sudan’s programmes and issues.

The forum, titled “Arab Forum for Strengthening Human Resources Capacity as Accelerators of Recovery and Reconstruction,” began on Tuesday and will continue until October 15 under the patronage of Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris. It is jointly organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Arab Administrative Development Organization, the Arab Labour Organization, and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development.
