MDI: $50 Million in Losses in Sudan Due to the War

Munazzamat Al-Daw’ah Al Islamiyyah (MDI) disclosed that it had incurred losses amounting to $50m in Sudan due to the war, primarily in the form of assets.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MDI, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, explained that the assets include 125 vehicles and various other machinery. Additionally, the rebels have taken over the headquarters of Danfodio Company, which is involved in Sudan’s oil services, particularly drilling and other petroleum services. Danfodio is one of MDI’s companies operating in Sudan.

This was disclosed during a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. Mohieddin Al-Naeem, at his office in Port Sudan on Tuesday.

The meeting discussed MDI’s interest in investing in the oil and gas sector and expanding its petroleum services.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud expressed his desire to invest in Sudan’s oil and gas sector and reaffirmed MDI’s commitment to continuing its work in Sudan.

For his part, the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr Mohieddin Naeem Mohamed Said, announced the available opportunities for investment in oil, gas, electricity, and petroleum services, welcoming all parties with financial and technical capabilities.
