Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohi El-Din Salem Ahmed Ibrahim, stated on Monday that Sudan has plans and programs to protect the Red Sea, noting that the government is working to enhance security and stability in the region.

In statements to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels, Ibrahim added that the security prevalence in Sudan has become much greater than before, emphasizing that the investment climate in the country has witnessed significant improvement recently.

He explained that the Sudanese authorities have begun removing many obstacles to investment as part of their efforts to attract capital and support economic activity.

Ibrahim also described the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council as the culmination of two years of joint work, considering it an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Sudanese counterpart, Mohi El-Din Salem, signed the document establishing the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council in Riyadh.

The establishment of the council stems from the two countries’ keenness to raise the level of cooperation and coordination between them, so that the council may be an effective institutional platform for developing and strengthening bilateral relations, and an institutional framework that brings together the concerned parties from both sides to work on tangible outputs through clear initiatives, projects and targets, in a way that enhances cooperation and integration, and fulfills the aspirations of the leadership and people of the two countries.
