Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council Established

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Sudanese counterpart, Muhi Al-Din Salem Ahmed Ibrahim, signed a document establishing the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council on Monday at the Saudi Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the establishment of the council stems from the two countries’ keenness to elevate the level of cooperation and coordination between them, making it an effective institutional platform for developing and strengthening bilateral relations.
It added that the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council is an institutional framework that brings together relevant entities from both sides to work towards tangible outcomes through clear initiatives, projects, and objectives, thereby enhancing cooperation and integration and fulfilling the aspirations of the leadership and people of both countries.
In a related context, the two ministers co-chaired a meeting of the Political Follow-up and Consultation Committee between the two countries.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop and enhance them in various fields, in addition to discussing the latest regional developments and exchanging views on them.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to continuing to work towards strengthening bilateral relations and joint cooperation in various fields. Meanwhile, Sudanese Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation, Mohi El-Din Salem, stated that the coordination council with Saudi Arabia also addresses security and defense matters.
In remarks to Asharq News, he emphasized the necessity of ensuring the Red Sea remains a safe and secure area for all those who traverse it. He affirmed the commitment to achieving integration between Sudan and Saudi Arabia across all sectors.
He also indicated that Sudan seeks to benefit from Saudi Arabia’s pioneering experience in economics and technology.
