Breaking: CBS Revokes License Granted to Al-Asjad Company

The Sudanhorizon news website has learned that the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBS), Amina Mirghani, has decided to revoke the license granted to Al-Asjad Smart and Digital Solutions Company as a “financial transaction converter and payment platform.”
The Governor also directed the formation of an emergency committee comprised of representatives from the Central Bank’s legal department, EBS Company, and relevant authorities to review future applications and service proposals submitted by any institution for electronic payment systems.

According to the information, the Central Bank affirmed its openness to working with the Sudanese private sector to contribute to the development of the banking sector’s digital infrastructure, in accordance with the executive regulations established by the Bank and the legal and technical standards that qualify private sector institutions to deal with the Bank of Sudan.
