The Sudanese Athletics Federation Launches a Program to Develop and Qualify Technical Staff

The first level coaching course, part of the Olympic Solidarity program, started here on Tuesday

The course is organized by the Sudanese Athletics Federation under the supervision of the Sudanese Olympic Committee, in cooperation with World Athletics, represented by its Regional Training and Development Center in Cairo, Egypt.

This course is the first step in the coach qualification and certification program – Level 1 – and represents the beginning of a new path towards elevating Sudanese coaches and bringing them up to international standards in athletics science and training.

International expert Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf Diab, from the Arab Republic of Egypt, was appointed as the course instructor, within the framework of the Olympic Solidarity program and under the supervision of World Athletics.

The course began virtually with the participation of 24 coaches affiliated with the Sudanese Athletics Federation. The opening session included welcoming and guidance remarks delivered by Dr. Hamdi Abdel Rahim, Director of the Regional Training Center in Cairo.

The opening ceremony of the course was attended by Professor Al-Moez Abbas, President of the Sudanese Athletics Federation; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf Diab, international expert and course instructor; and Dr. Alaa El-Din Sabah El-Kheir, Executive Director of the Sudanese Athletics Federation.

The program will run for five days, with five hours of training each day. The in-person component of the course will be completed in Khartoum next September, with Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf Diab leading the training.

This course is part of the Sudanese Athletics Federation’s policy, which considers investing in Sudanese coaches a key priority for the coming period. Coaches are seen as fundamental to developing champions and improving the level of Sudanese athletics, ultimately leading to a stronger presence on the Arab, continental, and international stages.
