Tijani Sisi: We Only Heard About PM’s Meeting with Political Forces Through the Media

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Moussa
The Chairman of the National Movement Forces, Dr. Tijani Sisi, said that the meeting announced in the media regarding the Prime Minister’s intention to hold a meeting with various political forces has not yet been initiated.
Sisi added in a statement to sudanhorizon news website, “We only heard about this meeting in the media, and we have not received any invitation to it yet.”
He said that the national political forces submitted a request to meet with Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris, but they have not received any response. He expressed his belief that there are attempts to demonize the national political forces.
He said that despite the significant contributions they have made since the revolution, their support for the armed forces, their support for the Battle of Dignity, and their opposition to exclusion without being asked, still there are statements by political activists that diminish this role.
He added, “We have a vision on the issue of transition, but what will be the meaning of meeting the political forces now?” He said that such a meeting would have been beneficial had it taken place earlier.
He expressed his hope that a consensus would be reached on the new government and that it would be composed of independent elements, stressing that the participation of political forces would undermine it.
He said, “I fear there is a tendency to include political forces in the government,” adding that other factors may have contributed to the presence of these forces. He emphasized the need to avoid any indications that would affect the performance of the upcoming government. He said, “We will continue to fully play our role in Sudan… We are forces deeply rooted in the country and we will not abandon our role in defending this nation.”
