Sudanese FM Holds Intensive Meetings with Arab Counterparts in Amman to Discuss Developments in Sudan

Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi El-Din Salem Ahmed, held a series of bilateral meetings with his Arab counterparts on the sidelines of the meeting of the League of Arab States Council at the ministerial level, which took place in the Jordan on Monday.

The meetings included discussions with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia; Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait; Ahmed Attaf of Algeria; Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs; Nasser Bourita of Morocco; and Taher Al-Baour of Libya.

According to a statement issued by Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, the minister briefed his counterparts on recent developments in Sudan following the return of state institutions to the capital, Khartoum, as well as ongoing efforts to rebuild and rehabilitate infrastructure and public services damaged during the conflict.

The minister stated that the situation in Sudan is moving positively toward the restoration of state authority across the entire national territory. He also referred to what he described as military and logistical support provided to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) by certain regional actors, including the supply of weapons, drones, and foreign mercenaries.

The meetings also addressed the state of bilateral relations between Sudan and the participating Arab countries, with discussions focusing on ways to strengthen and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

For their part, the Arab foreign ministers reaffirmed their countries’ support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability. They emphasized their commitment to continuing assistance for Sudan during the current phase and expressed their desire to further develop bilateral relations and cooperation with Sudan across various sectors.
