Khartoum Governor Approves Cuts to Gas and Gasoline Prices

Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza approved a new adjustment to gas and gasoline prices for consumers across Khartoum State on Tuesday, introducing significant reductions in gas prices and a slight decrease in the price of gasoline.

Under the decision, the price of a liter of bakery gas was reduced to SDG 3,742, while cooking gas was set at SDG 6,800 per kilogram. As a result, a 12.5-kilogram cooking gas cylinder will cost SDG 85,000, down from the previous price of SDG 106,400.

The decision also reduced the price of gasoline to SDG 8,518 per liter, bringing the price of a 4.5-liter gallon to SDG 38,331, compared with the previous prices of SDG 8,678 per liter and SDG 39,051 per gallon.

The new prices take effect immediately from Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at gas distribution outlets and all operating service stations across Khartoum State’s localities.

The move is part of the state’s efforts to regulate fuel and gas prices and ease the burden on citizens as well as productive and service sectors.
