Ministry of Health: Decline in Malaria and Dengue Fever Cases in Khartoum

The Khartoum State Ministry of Health has revealed in its epidemiological report for the seventh week of 2026, which it released on Wednesday, a significant decrease in malaria and dengue fever cases.
Malaria cases dropped to 9,888, against 10,361 a week ago. Dengue fever cases also decreased to 415 from 440. Cases of conjunctivitis were reported.
During a meeting of the Emergency Operations Center, Fath Al-Rahman Muhammad Al-Amin, the Acting Director General of the Ministry, emphasized the importance of urgent intervention to address the shortage of emergency and pediatric medications and medical supplies, as well as providing spraying equipment and waste collection vehicles to enhance health stability in the state’s seven localities.
In the context of international support, the World Health Organization has pledged to provide two mobile clinics in areas hosting displaced persons and to train healthcare workers. Meanwhile, the Child Welfare Organization committed to solid waste removal and providing a clinic in the Jabal Awliya locality.
