Sudanese Army: Al-Dagalo Militia Deliberately Set Fire to Oil Refinery

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Armed Forces accused the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of intentionally setting fire to the oil refinery in the Al-Jaili area, north of the capital, Khartoum.
In a statement issued Thursday and obtained by Sudanhorizon news, the army said:
“Continuing its criminal and spiteful actions against the country and its people, and after our forces tightened the noose around it on all fronts, the Al-Daglo terrorist militia deliberately set fire to the Khartoum refinery in Al-Jaili this morning. This desperate attempt to destroy the country’s infrastructure comes after it failed to achieve its delusions of seizing its resources and land.”
The statement continued:
“This spiteful act reveals the extent of the criminality and degradation of this militia—its leadership, members, and supporters—and highlights its unprecedented crimes and violations in the history of warfare against the Sudanese people and their property. This only strengthens our resolve to pursue them everywhere until we cleanse every inch of the country from their filth and malice. With God’s help, we will then focus on rebuilding everything their treacherous hands have destroyed in this nation and for its people.”
Since early Thursday, activists have circulated video footage showing a thick black smoke cloud covering the skies above Al-Jaili and its surroundings.
On Wednesday, the Sudanese Armed Forces regained control of the village of Al-Jaili, north of Khartoum. This village serves as the main gateway between Khartoum State and the Nile River State, following fierce battles with the rebel RSF militia.
Additionally, troops from the Third Infantry Division advanced from the outskirts of the Nile River State, tightening the siege on RSF forces stationed inside the refinery.
