Al-Burhan to Lead Sudanese Delegation to UN, Address General Assembly on September 24

Senior diplomatic sources confirmed that Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan will lead Sudan’s delegation to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The sources, speaking to Sudanhorizon on Tuesday, said September 24 has been set as the date for Sudan to deliver its address before the General Assembly.
They also said Sudan’s participation this year is expected to receive significant attention within the corridors of the international organization given the political and humanitarian circumstances currently facing the country. They noted that important meetings will be held on the sidelines of the sessions with the participating Sudanese delegation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohieddin Salem traveled to New York today (Tuesday), ahead of the official delegation participating in the 81st session.
The Foreign Minister will participate in the accompanying high-level meetings and events, which will begin on September 22. He will also hold talks beforehand with a number of international actors, UN mechanisms, and organizations concerned with the Sudanese crisis, in addition to meetings with his counterparts from friendly and brotherly countries interested in Sudanese affairs.
