Written Message from General Al-Burhan to the President of Djibouti

Djibouti – Sudanhorizon

Ambassador Muawiya Osman Khalid, Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the Sudanese delegation to the IGAD Council of Ministers meeting, has delivered a written message from General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, to President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti. The message addressed the fraternal bilateral relations between the two countries and the evolving situation in Sudan.

In this context, Ambassador Muawiya Khalid highlighted the significant improvement in the situation in Sudan and the major progress being achieved by the Armed Forces on the ground. In his address to the conference, Khalid noted the systematic destruction and the targeting of civilians by the rebel militia—actions that have led many nations and organizations to characterize them as genocidal.

He also pointed to the launch of the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, aimed at finding solutions to all issues without external interference or dictates. He called upon IGAD to support these efforts. The Undersecretary reaffirmed the Sudanese government’s commitment to opening crossings for the delivery of humanitarian aid, despite the militia’s exploitation of these routes for purposes other than humanitarian relief.

He further reiterated Sudan’s support for IGAD in implementing its projects and fulfilling its duties, particularly those related to natural phenomena and combating the impacts of climate change.
