Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, arrived in Nile River State on Wednesday, accompanied by Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Jibril Ibrahim and several ministers and senior government officials.
He was received by the Governor of Nile River State, Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdel-Majid Abu-Quron, along with state ministers, military leaders, and the State Security Committee.
During his visit, Jaber toured the Artillery Corps in Atbara, praising the role of the Armed Forces in the Battle of Dignity and highlighting that Sudan is engaged in a multi-front war.
Jaber pointed out that Sudan has been facing economic battles aimed at destabilizing the country and looting its resources. He emphasized the necessity of currency replacement, stating that anyone opposing or hesitating to support this process would be considered a rebel.
He also noted that Sudan is engaged in a major media battle in which the government has confronted massive media campaigns aimed at breaking the nation’s will. Additionally, he criticized the manipulation of humanitarian aid narratives, accusing certain entities of falsely portraying Sudan as suffering from famine.
Jaber praised the farmers of Nile River State, recognizing their contributions to industry and agriculture and reaffirming Sudan’s resilience under the slogan: “Sudan will not starve.”
During his visit, he inspected various institutions and factories in the state. He visited the General Authority for Standards and Metrology, highlighting its crucial role in protecting the national economy by enforcing quality standards for goods and services.
Jaber commended the gold testing operations at the authority’s inspection facility in Atbara, which have significantly improved Sudan’s gold exports. He urged all state institutions to adhere to strict quality and regulatory standards.
Jaber also visited the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company and the Anti-Smuggling Directorate of the General Customs Administration, acknowledging their vital role in combating smuggling and safeguarding the national economy.
Jaber lauded Nile River State’s rapid industrial progress, particularly its swift response to the Sovereignty Council’s directive to establish industrial cities across Sudan through strategic planning and sustainable projects. He expressed optimism that this momentum would continue to drive industrial development nationwide.
During visits to factories such as Mayasem for Food Processing and Packaging, Atlas for Carton Manufacturing, and the Leather Factory, Jaber praised their advanced production capabilities, exclusive reliance on Sudanese labour, and substantial employment of young people—helping to combat unemployment.
