The Sudanese National Security and Defense Council has commended His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US President Donald Trump for their concern about the developments in the Sudan and their desire to achieve a peace that preserves Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity.

In its meeting, headed by the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, in Port Sudan on Tuesday evening, the Council reaffirmed the Sudanese government’s commitment to facilitating the entry of humanitarian aid, opening roads, protecting humanitarian workers, ensuring the delivery of aid to those in need, and keeping border crossings and airports open.

The Council has meanwhile condemned the atrocities committed and still being committed in El Fasher and other areas by the militias.

Foreign and International Cooperation minister, Mohi El-Din Salem, read the Council’s statement, which reviewed the overall security and political situation in the country, commending the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and their supporting units on the various battlefronts and congratulated them on the victories scored.

The Security and Defense Council tasked the relevant authorities with responding to the proposals submitted by the US President’s Advisor on Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos.

The Council affirmed its commitment to the vision previously presented by the Sudanese government to the United Nations and to other relevant bodies.
