Sudanese FM Briefs VP on Outcomes of Doha Summit and Ministry’s Plans

Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieldin Salem, briefed Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar Ir, on the performance of the ministry and its plans to advance and strengthen Sudan’s foreign relations, along with the outcomes of Sudan’s delegation—headed by the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council—at the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha.

Following the meeting held today (Wednesday) in Port Sudan, the Foreign Minister stated: “I received directives from the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council to support the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the coming stage and to enhance the role of diplomacy.” He added, “In the Government of Hope and Peace, we will work on reconstruction, rehabilitation, and coordinating efforts in line with the roadmap that has been established.”

He further noted that the directives of the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council will serve as guidance for the ministry’s work abroad and will strengthen Sudan’s presence in regional and international forums.
