Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

The Khartoum State Water Corporation has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a reliable water supply across all areas of the state and addressing shortages through an emergency well-drilling program.

During an inspection tour on Saturday, the Corporation’s Director General, Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Awad, announced that work is currently underway on several wells in Omdurman’s Ombada locality.

He said drilling has been completed on the first well in the East Libya Market area, which has a production capacity of 40 cubic meters per hour, while work on the second well is nearing completion.

The Director General noted that the new wells are expected to meet the water needs of residents in the area, adding that the corporation’s objective is to improve water supplies in communities experiencing the greatest shortages. He said the initiative is being implemented under the direct supervision of the Governor of Khartoum State.
