The appointment of a civilian Prime Minister to lead the government Executive, and the nomination of Dr. Kamil al-Tayeb Idris to this position, after a vacancy of at least three years, has garnered significant support among political forces and regional organizations.

Mubarak Ardol, a leader in the Democratic Bloc, welcomed the decision on his official Facebook page, saying: “We commend the appointment of Dr. Kamil Idris as Prime Minister at this difficult time. He faces several complex tasks that require patience and determination to accomplish. These tasks include revitalizing the government and its civilian role, normalizing life, and restoring services to citizens. He also pursues a policy that builds national unity, leads the transition, implements the Juba Peace Agreement, and prepares for the Sudanese political dialogue process, which will ultimately lead to general elections.”

The Future Movement

The National Party Comments

Mawlana Ahmed Mohamed Haroun, the acting head of the National Congress Party, commented on the decision, considering it “an important step in reorganizing the internal national house, enabling the Sovereign Council and the army leadership to carry out their important tasks. This provides an opportunity to form a government that can carry out its duties efficiently, especially in light of the current circumstances facing the country, most notably completing the army’s victory by addressing the severe impact of the war on the citizen.”
