Al-Merreikh’s Loss to Inter Nouakchott May Hasten Coach’s Dismissal

Nouakchott – Sudanhorizon

The Mauritanian Inter Nouakchott team inflicted a second loss on Al-Merreikh in the Mauritanian Premier League, defeating it by one goal to none on Wednesday evening at Sheikha Bedia Stadium in the twelfth round.

The Sudanese Reds played the match without substitutes except for (3) goalkeepers on the bench for reasons related to the absence of (17) players from the team for various reasons, most of which were decided by the Italian coach Giovanni.

Al-Merreikh now has two options: either dismiss the coach or withdraw from the Mauritanian Premier League.

The coach removed (13) players from his calculations and informed them of this, which the team’s management rejects and considers it arbitrary and detrimental to the club’s interests.

Giovanni finally adopted a strict policy of removing the player from the training list without gradual punishment, and the coach’s relationship with the players worsened due to this policy.

The Italian is linked to a contract with the team for 3 years with a monthly salary of 30 thousand dollars, which makes his dismissal costly, requiring the payment of one million dollars.

The Al-Merreikh Board of Directors took a decision last week to reconsider the matter of the continuation of the technical director.
