Sudan Expresses Desire to Benefit from Morocco’s Solar Energy Expertise

The Sudanese government has expressed its desire to benefit from Morocco’s experience in the field of solar energy.
Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Gibril Ibrahim, met with Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, on the sidelines of the African Forum on Global Financial Markets (International Finance) held in Casablanca, Morocco, on December 9–10. During the meeting, the Sudanese minister conveyed this interest.
The meeting explored ways to enhance economic relations between the two countries, promote trade exchanges, and share experiences and expertise in the economic field.
The Sudanese minister stated that Morocco is considered a global leader in solar energy and emphasised the importance of learning from Morocco’s expertise in agriculture, irrigation, water harvesting, climate change, and microfinance.
The meeting highlighted the need to establish a business forum for entrepreneurs from both countries to encourage investment in Sudan.
An agreement was reached to jointly arrange the legal frameworks for agreements in various investment sectors in Sudan for the mutual benefit of the two brotherly nations.
