JF Spokesperson: We Repelled a Major Attack on Al-Fasher

The official spokesman for the Joint Forces of the Armed Struggle Movements, Major Ahmed Hussein Mahjoub, said that a number of residential neighborhoods in the city of Al-Fasher witnessed a violent attack today by the rebel Rapid Support Militia.

In a special statement to the Sudanhorizon news website, he added that the armed forces, the joint forces, and the mobilized divisions were able to repel the attack and inflict heavy losses on the attackers. They are currently being pursued in the eastern outskirts of Al-Fasher.

He pointed out that the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Joint Force of the Armed Struggle Movements and the Popular Resistance have bravely confronted several attacks launched by the rebel Rapid Support Militia on Al-Fasher city during the past few days, inflicting heavy losses in lives and equipment.

Adding that the militia, after being crushed and receiving blows, began to spread rumors and propaganda for the purpose of misleading the media in order to raise the morale of the remnants of their collapsed forces, and to try to mislead their bases to gather more mobilized people. The spokesman stressed that the real war with the militia and their mercenaries will begin soon and that the operations to expel them from the city of El Fasher and the rest of the cities of the Darfur region and other Sudanese cities will begin soon, God willing.
