National Forces Coordination Confirms Participation in Addis Ababa Meetings
Cairo – Sudanhorizon
The National Forces Coordination has announced its participation in the Quintet Mechanism meetings scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa on June 5 and 6.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Coordination said it will be represented by a high-level delegation headed by its chairman, Mohamed Sayed Ahmed Al-Jakoumi, and including a number of the Coordination’s leaders as well as representatives of traditional community leaders, women, youth, and national professionals.
The Coordination stated that its participation comes as part of efforts to support initiatives aimed at ending Sudan’s crisis and creating a conducive environment for a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue that would lead to sustainable peace and promote security, stability, and development.
The statement reaffirmed the group’s commitment to Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, independence of national decision-making, and the legitimacy of state institutions, particularly the Sudanese Armed Forces, other security institutions, and the government.
It stressed that any dialogue process must be Sudanese-led and free from external dictates or interference.
The Coordination also emphasized that the anticipated dialogue should be inclusive of national forces that support the unity of the country and represent various segments of society. At the same time, it called for the exclusion of the Ta’sis coalition and its allies and rejected any participation by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) or any entity representing them in determining Sudan’s future.
The statement further clarified that the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue will ultimately be held inside Sudan under full national ownership, while the current external meetings are limited to preparatory arrangements and efforts to create a suitable environment for the dialogue process.
