Prime Minister Kamil Idris arrived in London on Tuesday, leading a high-level official delegation that included Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities, and Tourism Khalid Al-Aisir; the Prime Minister’s Special Representative, Hussein Al-Siddiq Al-Hafyan; Deputy Director General of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Abbas Muhammad Bakhit; and the Prime Minister’s Advisor and Director of the Office, Nizar Abdullah Muhammad.
The Prime Minister and his delegation were received at Heathrow International Airport by officials from the Sudanese Embassy in the United Kingdom, headed by Ambassador Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, and members of the diplomatic mission.
The visit comes at the invitation of two of the world’s most prestigious universities, Oxford and Cambridge, to deliver two separate lectures presenting Sudan’s peace initiative to a select group of British and European academics, university professors, and media figures, and to garner international support for the Sudanese government’s efforts to consolidate peace and stability.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to take the opportunity of his stay in Britain to meet with members of the Sudanese community in the United Kingdom.
