The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) General Command has denounced accusations that it attacked Al-Daein Hospital in East Darfur using Sudanese army aircraft, stating that these were mere accusations propagated by the terrorist militia of the Dagalo family and its supporters.

A statement issued Saturday night by the office of the official spokesperson for the Sudanese Armed Forces asserted that SAF are “regular force that adheres to international norms and laws,” and that targeting civilian infrastructure “is the modus operandi of the Rapid Support Forces militia, which has repeatedly carried out such attacks, including on hospitals in Al-Obied , Dilling, Kadugli, Umm Ruwaba, Al-Rahad, and Ad-Dabba, killing hundreds of patients and medical staff, and attacks on water and electricity stations in Al-Ubayyid, Kosti, Khartoum, and Merowe.”

The statement further asserted that “attacking service and health facilities is a persistent and daily practice of this terrorist militia, which has committed massacres in Al-Fasher, as well as crimes against humanity, war crimes, and ethnic cleansing.”

In its statement, SAF appealed to “human rights and civil organizations and the international community to fulfill their moral and legal obligation by condemning the behavior of this criminal militia and holding it accountable for violating Security Council resolutions, especially in El Fasher and Darfur, and to stop the sources that provide it with the weapons with which it commits such atrocities.”
