Sudanese Students Evacuated from Iran Set to Arrive in Port Sudan, Friday

The head of the Sudanese community in Turkey, Engineer Nizar Atta Al-Mannan, accompanied by Dr. Al-Mahi Abu Talib, head of the Sudanese Students Union in Turkey, paid a visit to Sudanese students evacuated from Iran, at their residence in Istanbul on Thursday, on their way back to Sudan.
The two leaders congratulated the students on their safe arrival and conveyed the well wishes of the community members and students for their safe return home to their families. They also expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the embassy in Tehran in evacuating the students.
For his part, the Deputy Head of Mission in Iran, Ambassador Khalid Al-Sheikh, praised the initiative of the community leader and the student union delegation and their visit, which reflects the solidarity of Sudanese people at home and abroad. He commended the government’s efforts in facilitating the students’ evacuation from Iran.
It is worth noting that (24) students, along with one family, are expected to arrive in Port Sudan this afternoon (Friday) as the first group of members of the community in Iran to arrive in the country, while six other students arrived last Tuesday in the Omani capital, Muscat, where their families reside in the Sultanate.
