US Official Discusses Regional Security Situation, Including Sudan, in Egypt

US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau announced at the conclusion of a two-day official visit to Egypt that his discussions covered the security situation in the region and that he listened to the Egyptian perspective on a variety of regional issues.

In a tweet on his official X account, the US official stated that he concluded two days of meetings with senior ministers and other leaders in Egypt, and that all discussions were productive, frank, and cordial.

He added that both countries recognize the mutual benefits of their deep strategic partnership, and he benefited greatly from hearing Egyptian views on a variety of regional conflicts.
He commended his Egyptian hosts for their hospitality, and expressed hope that he would return to the region soon.

Meanwhile , Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty published a comment on Sunday regarding the visit and meeting, in which he explained that he discussed with the visiting US Deputy Secretary of State, Mr. Christopher Landau, the importance of the Egyptian-American strategic partnership, and the shared desire to coordinate on regional developments, including Gaza, Sudan, the Horn of Africa, and Egypt’s water security.
