Gezirah Governor: RSF Militia Carried Out Direct Assassinations Against 6,333 Citizens

The Governor of Gezirah State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, on Wednesday revealed that more than 60,000 reports of violations, including theft, looting, and murder, perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in the state, have been submitted

During a meeting with a visiting Turkish media delegation, the governor explained that the militia killed more than 6,333 civilians in direct assassinations, in addition to the deaths of more than 10,000 others due to the repercussions of the war.

He also pointed to the militia’s involvement in recruiting underage children, stating that 97 of them were captured fighting in its ranks during the liberation of some areas.

Al-Khair also highlighted the militia’s practices regarding forced marriage and child marriage, noting the tragedy of the citizens of the Al-Hilaliah area who were subjected to a policy of starvation, which led to the deaths of more than 1,200 civilians.

The governor confirmed that the militia deliberately destroyed infrastructure, most notably the Gezira Scheme and the Agricultural Research Corporation, including the “Gene Bank,” which contained 27,000 varieties of seeds and genetic resources.

In closing, the governor of Gezira reviewed his government’s efforts to meet people’s needs and restore the health system, noting the revitalization of 106 hospitals and 860 health centers, in addition to the implementation of 6,117 service projects for the benefit of the state’s inhabitants.
