Sudanese Defense Minister: RSF Militias Were Never Part of SAF

Sudan’s Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun, emphasized that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) “did not create the Rapid Support Forces, and they were never part of the armed forces,” asserting that the armed forces are advancing on all fronts and victorious in the current battle.
In statements to Al-Arabiya – Al-Hadath, Kabroun said that treating the army and the Rapid Support Forces as equal parties constitutes “political maneuvering,” indicating that any amendments to the Juba Peace Agreement will be aimed at preserving the unity of Sudan.
The Defense Minister added, “We will hold accountable anyone who engages in illegal recruitment,” further stating that no parallel forces or militias affiliated with any party will be permitted after the war ends. He also warned that any threat to the security of the Red Sea directly impacts the security of Sudan, noting the country’s efforts to establish a Sudanese coast guard force.
During the 72nd anniversary celebrations of the Sudanese Armed Forces in Khartoum State, the Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, emphasized that the armed forces are a national institution that does not belong to any particular tribe or region, but rather represents all Sudanese people.
Al-Burhan affirmed that the capital, Khartoum, is now safe and stable, reiterating his commitment to continuing the development of the army and equipping it with the necessary weapons and capabilities to protect the country, and calling on all Sudanese to return to their homes.
