Atbara – Sudanhorizon – Mariam Bashir
The Federal Ministry of Education, in coordination with the River Nile State Education Department and other relevant entities, has initiated the necessary preparations to set up and organize centres for marking Sudanese Certificate exams. Sudanhorizon has learned that the responsible authorities have already started coordinating coordination meetings to plan the process. River Nile State has been designated the main centre for marking exam papers.
In this context, the state’s Minister of Education, Ahmed Hamid Yassin, stated that River Nile State had successfully organized and completed the Sudanese Certificate exams without any significant obstacles or issues, as confirmed by reports from all exam centres.
In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Yassin said the exams proceeded smoothly, with all centres maintaining calm. Except for some students’ minor health issues, the emergency medical units provided by the state’s Ministry of Health promptly addressed them. He added that the students performed well.
Yassin highlighted the significant efforts made by the state government, its security apparatus, and the local community, including educational councils and voluntary organizations, to make the seemingly impossible possible. Despite the exceptional circumstances due to the ongoing war, the postponed 2023 exams were successfully conducted this year.
The minister noted that the state accommodated its 18,881 registered students and more than 36,000 additional students, including 3,300 at 15 emergency centres. These centers provided all necessary support, including food and accommodation, throughout the exam period.
The minister expressed his wishes for success to all the students who sat for the exams and hoped for better luck in future exams for those unable to participate due to the prevailing circumstances.
