At least 21 People, Including Women and Children Khalid by al-Hilu’s Forces on the Otoro area in Kauda

The Sudanese Doctors Network reported that at least 21 people, including women and children, were killed and others wounded in an attack launched by forces of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) faction led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu on areas inhabited by the Otoro tribe in Debi and Lori, south and west of Kauda in South Kordofan State. The attack resulted in the displacement of a large number of civilians from the area.
In a statement published on Friday on its Facebook page, the network condemned the attacks launched by the SPLM-N faction led by al-Hilu on the Otoro tribal areas.
The network stated that the attacks came after the ceasefire agreement and represent a clear violation of the agreement, a renewal of fighting, and a targeting of civilians on an ethnic basis. It added that these attacks resulted in the displacement of large numbers of civilians from their homes, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians.

The Sudanese Doctors Network called on the international community and regional and international organizations to pressure the SPLM-N forces led by al-Hilu and its leaders to stop these violations and abide by the ceasefire agreement, warning that violating the agreement and renewing fighting on an ethnic basis represents the beginning of a new displacement of the Kauda communities and will double the suffering of citizens, especially in light of the rainy season, which may lead to an exacerbation of the humanitarian situation and the occurrence of a humanitarian catastrophe that requires urgent action from the international community and humanitarian organizations.
