Red Sea State Launches Voluntary Return Program for Displaced People

Red Sea State launched the voluntary return program for citizens of Khartoum State and the safe states this morning, Sunday, at Port Sudan Stadium.
In his remarks, Red Sea State Governor Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour expressed his happiness at seeing off the first group, which includes 600 citizens on board 10 buses. He praised the role of the Zakat Chamber in covering the cost of renting the buses and called on companies, business owners, and entrepreneurs to contribute to supporting voluntary return programs for displaced people.
For her part, the Director of the Social Development Sector in the state, Elham Idris, explained that the voluntary return program came under the patronage of the governor and with support from the Zakat Chamber and some partners. She noted that the ministry coordinated with the Humanitarian Emergency Committee to transport the displaced from shelter centers to their home states, wishing the returning families safety, peace, and stability.
This step comes as part of the state’s efforts to support the voluntary return project and strengthen security and stability in areas affected by the war, according to the Sudan News Agency.
