Kuwait Says Civilian Facilities in Sudan Should Not be Attacked

The State of Kuwait has condemned the attacks carried out by the Rapid Support militias against Port Sudan and Kassala airports.
In a statement received by Sudanhorizon, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of the attacks that targeted the vital Sudanese civilian facilities in Kassala and Port Sudan, saying this was a serious turning point in the conflict
Kuwait renewed its continuous demand that civilian facilities and centers, which constitute a vital source in the lives of the civilian population, should never be targeted.
The Kuwaiti government has meanwhile called for a ceasefire and commitment to what was stated in the Jeddah Declaration, May 11, 2023, which emphasizes the need to protect civilians while preserving Sudan’s independence and territorial integrity and supporting its national institutions.
