OIC Holds An Urgent Meeting Today

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an extraordinary open-ended meeting of the Executive Committee at the level of Foreign Ministers to discuss the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, including the assassination of Mr. Ismail Haniyeh, Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, former Palestinian Prime Minister, and its attacks on the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Organization in Jeddah.
The Sudanhorizon news website learned that the invitation to the extraordinary meeting was requested by both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Palestine.
According to the organization’s website, this meeting is being held in light of the continued crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, which have so far led to the death of more than 40,000 martyrs and the injury of more than 91,000 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the destruction of civilian objects, including 430,000 homes, in addition to infrastructure, health and educational facilities, places of worship and historical sites, and the displacement of nearly two million Palestinians from their homes.
