New York – Sudanhorizon

U.S. Senior Adviser for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos said today, Monday, that he held “productive talks” with the foreign ministers of Sudan and Egypt on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.

In a post on his official account on X, Boulos said his meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem “was productive,” and focused on the need to urgently agree on a path toward lasting peace in Sudan.

“The Sudanese people are in urgent need of a humanitarian truce that could pave the way for an inclusive civilian dialogue and a unified, peaceful Sudan,” he added.

For his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty said he held a constructive trilateral discussion with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem and Massad Boulos, the U.S. President’s Senior Adviser for Arab and African Affairs, on efforts to de-escalate tensions in Sudan and preserve its unity.
