Al-Kurmuk Governor: Liberation of Al-Keili Opens Route to Capital, Severs Militia Supply Lines

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Moussa

Al-Kurmuk Governor Abdel Ati Mohamed Al-Faki said that the Sudanese Armed Forces and allied forces succeeded on Saturday in recapturing the Al-Keili area in Al-Kurmuk Governorate, affirming that full control had been established after inflicting heavy losses in lives and equipment on the militias of Joseph Toka and the Rapid Support Forces.

In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Al-Faki explained that this advance represents an important step toward reaching the capital of Al-Kurmuk Governorate, stressing the strategic significance of the Al-Keili area as a pivotal point in military operations along the Blue Nile frontlines.

He added that controlling Al-Keili effectively cuts off the expansion routes previously relied upon by Joseph Toka’s militia and the Rapid Support Forces to move toward northern areas, in addition to severing supply lines linking militia positions in the southern and northern parts of the governorate.

The Al-Kurmuk governor expressed his satisfaction with what he described as a major victory, noting that the armed forces continue advancing on other fronts and that the coming hours would bring further positive developments regarding military operations in the Blue Nile axes within Al-Kurmuk Governorate.
