Finance Ministry Pledges to Improve Conditions in West Kordofan State

Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim met with the Governor of West Kordofan State, Major General (Retired) Hamid Hamad Tirab, on Thursday to discuss the security and humanitarian situation and ways to overcome financial obstacles in the state.
This meeting took place at the Minister’s office in Khartoum and was also attended by the state’s Minister of Finance, Mr. Mahdi Al-Doud.
The Minister emphasized government commitment to achieving security and economic stability throughout the country, pledging to exert further efforts to improve the economic conditions in West Kordofan and address the financial challenges it faces.
For his part, the Governor of West Kordofan, Major General (Retired) Hamid Hamad Tirab, provided a detailed explanation of the critical obligations currently facing the state government. These include supporting the war effort and assisting the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in completing the liberation of the state from the rebel militia, paying compensation and entitlements to state employees, and providing necessary support to displaced persons and securing their basic needs.
The Governor of West Kordofan also expressed his appreciation for the continued support provided by the Federal Ministry of Finance to the state, emphasizing the importance of close coordination and cooperation between the two sides so that the state can achieve full stability and overcome this exceptional period.
