Al-Merrikh Defeats the Libyan Tahaddi, While Al-Hilal Draws Against Tunisian Sfaxi
Benghazi – Tunisia – Sudanhorizon
The preparations for the Sudanese summit, Al-Merrikh and Al-Hilal’s first preliminary qualifiers of the African Champions League on 17/18 August against Al-Nasr and Al-Ahly Benghazi, respectively, have escalated.
Al-Merrikh ended its preparatory experiments on Sunday in an experimental match against the Libyan “Tahaddy Benghazi” and won (1\0) against the Tunisian professional Ayoub al-Balushi.
Al-Merrikh delegation arrived in Benghazi last Sunday from Nigeria after a three-week camp in which it played five experimental matches against Nigerian clubs under the supervision of the new Italian technical director, Giovanni. Before the mission landed in Benghazi, club president Omar Al-Nimair issued surprising decisions Monday, according to which he dismissed football department director Hatim Mohamed Ahmed and public relations officer Khaled Aziz.
There are doubts about midfielder Ahmed Hamed El-Tesh joining midfielder Ahmed Hamed El-Tesh, whose loan to Asswehly of Misrata-Libya has ended due to the player’s insistence on ending his relationship with the club unilaterally.
On the other hand, Al-Hilal concluded its training camp in Tunisia with a friendly match against Tunisian club Sfaxi, which ended in a (1-1) draw.
The mission is expected to arrive in Benghazi on Tuesday evening. In the first leg, it will face Al-Ahly of Benghazi on 18 August.
