Sudan Affirms Sovereignty over its Red Sea Coastline

London – Sudanhorizon

The head of the Sudanese diplomatic mission in London, Ambassador Babiker Al-Siddiq Mohammed Al-Amin who is also Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), has stated that the Sudanese government continues its efforts to ensure the safety, stability, and efficient operation of the country’s ports for the benefit of the Sudanese people and the people of neighboring countries.

In his address before the 34th IMO Assembly in London on Tuesday, the ambassador pointed to the resumption of South Sudanese oil exports through Sudanese ports.

He said that despite the war imposed on the country, Sudan asserts its authority and sovereignty over its Red Sea coastline, which extends for more than 700 kilometers, and its territorial waters, and contributes to securing navigation in the Red Sea, one of the most important international trade routes.

He referred to the desperate terrorist attack on Port Sudan last May, which was perpetrated by the regional sponsor of the terrorist militia, whose involvement and responsibility for the war against Sudan, its people, and its infrastructure is now known to the entire world, in an apparent reference to the UAE regime. He called on the association to condemn this terrorist crime, and all the crimes committed by the militia and its sponsors against the Sudanese people.
